Watermark Books and Cafe is excited to be hosting an event with Ann Anderson, author of Posts of a Mid-Century Kid. This is a memoir following Ann in the 1950s and 60s in Kansas. With humor and richly crafted details, she chronicles her mid-century childhood, offering a sampling of another era. This delightful and mischievous memoir advocates coloring vividly outside the lines. This author event and signing with Ann will take place on Tuesday, July 19th at 6pm at Watermark Books and Cafe. A life this rich also includes heartache. Ann speaks frankly of the loss of her mom and brother at a young age and the challenge of growing up with a father who never became involved in her life. Ann Vigola Anderson is happiest when she is in the Flint Hills with a view to the horizon.
Ann is a native Kansas and grounded in her sense of place. She is the author of Posts of a Mid-century Kid, a memoir about growing up in Kansas in the halcyon days of the 50s and 60s. With humor and richly crafted details, she chronicles her life, offering a sample of her love of the prairie, her grandparent's farm and some tasty recipes. She is passionate about sharing the simplicity of enjoying life and following her mother’s advice of ‘doing your best, having fun.'
Ann is a graduate of the University of Kansas. She teaches tennis at the Jayhawk Tennis Center. She and her husband and their two cats live in Lawrence, Kansas.
