Local Literary Festival 2019

Watermark Books & Cafe will welcome eight local authors during our Local Literary Festival on Sunday, Dec. 1 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Local authors include R.H. Duncan, Ann Fell, Barb Myers, Tony Myers, Shana Schmidt, Bonnie Tharp, Ruby Tobey, and Pamela Wegeng. The authors will be available to discuss and sign books. 

Creative Writing Workshop with Sam Weller

Join Sam Weller for a Creative Writing Workshop on Saturday, Nov. 5 from 9:30-11:30. The event is free to the attend for the first 15 participants.He will show writers how to use this technique, which works whether they are writing fiction, nonfiction, memoir, poetry, essay, or any other type of writing. He will have participants doing some writing of their own using this process. The event is ideal for writers aged high school students to adults.

Liz Kay

Watermark Books will host author Liz Kay for an author talk and signing of Monsters: A Love Story on Thursday, Oct. 27 at 6:00 p.m. 

Rock Neelly

Watermark Books & Cafe will host author Rock Neelly for an author talk and signing of his second book, The Prince of the Border, on Monday, Oct. 10 at 6:00 p.m.

Nathan Hill & Rep-o-rama

Watermark Books & Cafe will host former Wichitan, author Nathan Hill, and representatives from Penguin Random House on Tuesday, Oct. 25. Hill will discuss his debut novel, The Nix, and the reps will talk about must-have titles for winter 2016. Watermark Cafe will provide snacks for the event. 

Janice Lee

Watermark Books & Cafe will host author Janice Y.K. Lee for an author talk and signing of The Expatriates on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 6:00 p.m.

Chris Bohjalian

Watermark Books & Cafe will host author Chris Bohjalian on Friday, Nov. 4 at 6:00 p.m. The event will take place at Headspace, at the southwest corner in Lincoln Heights Village, just four doors down from Watermark Books & Cafe. 

Jennifer Mathieu

Watermark Books & Cafe will host author Jennifer Mathieu for an author luncheon on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 1:00 p.m. in Watermark Cafe. Jennifer Mathieu will talk about her latest book, Devoted, as well as how she juggles teaching with being a best-selling author. 

Tim O'Bryhim & Mike Romalis

Watermark Books & Cafe will host authors Tim O'Bryhim and Mike Romalis on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 6:00 p.m. for an author talk and signing of their book Make This Town Big: The Story of Roy Turner and the Wichita Wings. The event is free to attend and open to the public. Roy Turner will also be in attendance to answer questions about Wichita's iconic team.
