Watermark Book Club

Meeting schedule:  Fourth Monday of each month

Time:  6:30 p.m.

Place:  Author Autograph Gallery (basement)

Leader:  Anna Flynn

This book club reads general literary fiction & non-fiction. It doesn’t have a spiffy title because it's Watermark's original book club. Its leader Anna Flynn has always been a reader with Rummer Godden being one of her childhood favorites.  Anna likes to read a variety of books--historical fiction being one of her favorites.  Anna feels there's always something you can learn from a book, even fiction novels.  "A book is a trip only you can take within its pages, and to be in a Bookclub to share that trip is like the icing on a cake!"

A Short Introduction to the Watermark Book Club:

1. How would you characterize the Watermark Book Club?

The Watermark Book Club reads really good books. Most of the time participants say they would have never picked up the selected book on their own, but they're so glad to have read it.

2. Which book has been the most popular, or caused the most lively discussion, or was noteworthy in any way? Why?

I think it was This Is Where I Leave You by Jonathan Tropper. Normally when the entire book club likes the book we read, there's not much cause for dicussion. But I think this one suprised everyone who didn't expect to like it.

3. What might a new member expect when attending the Watermark Book Club for the first time?

New members can expect good books, laughter, and emerging friendships.
