Meet young reader, Kelly Redler.
Kelly is a founding member of Watermark's Young
Reader's Advisory Group. She attends Robinson Middle School and volunteers at
her temple. Kelly enjoys a reading a wide range of books, and her favorite thing
about reading is being able to enter a whole new world created by the author and
by her own imagination. She makes a mean tomato-mozzarella sandwich and has a
weakness for chocolate chip cookies.

Sweet Valley High by Francine Pascal.
This high school drama was addicting. I read it all in one read, I
couldn't put it down.
November 2007
Bullyville by Francine Prose.
Bullyville was a dramatic book that was about
a boy struggling with the death of his father in the terror attacks and
dealing with his transfer to a new school with a bad rep. It was one of the
best books I have read and it contained some heavy concepts.

The Chaos Code by
Justin Richards. (Bloomsbury USA Children’s Books, 9781599901244, $17.95)
This mysterious adventure
novel about archaeological clues to Atlantis is both historically
informative and packed with sci-fi speculation. I loved the exciting events
that occur when main character Matt Stribling and his father begin their
exploration.
The story is unique,
thrilling and quick-paced with a spooky and mysterious atmosphere. Kids ages
10-12 will like the action of this quick-paced read.
The Spell Book of Listen
Taylor by Jaclyn Moriarty. (Arthur A. Levine Books, 9780439846783, $16.99)
You will pick up this
book because of its cute cover, and hang on to it for its interesting
concept. The magical Zing family secret is threatened by outside middle
schooler Listen Taylor, which leads to the question: how do witches live in
normal society?
This story tackles family
issues, kids making friends, school, and of course… witchcraft, all with a
creative and different style. The atmosphere jumps from serious to fun, and
the concepts range from the random juvenile hi-jinx to more mature issues.
