Just when I think I can't love Lane Smith any more, he writes a couple more books.

Do you remember Lane Smith's wildly popular (and mini-brouhaha inducing) "It's a Book", which spent six months on the New York Times bestseller list and has been translated into seventeen launguages? Well, the monkey and--ahem--donkey are back, but in a flashback sort of way. These characters have donned diapers in this delightful board book for babies. 

The baby donkey isn't as tech savvy as his older counterpart, but he certainly has imaginative uses for a book--chewing, wearing, quacking, flying, building--everything but *reading*! And in this version for the very young, the donkey's shinanigans don't warrant the moniker *jackass*. This baby monkey only calls him *silly*. 

I can't think of a better baby shower gift. Or if you're a grandparent, "It's a Little Book" is a must-have for your library.
