Hot & Popular Book Club

Meeting date: Second Tuesday of each month

Time: 10:00 a.m.

Place: Watermark Inglenook

Leader: Karen Nelson

Our morning reading group is perfect for retirees, busy parents with school-age children, and anyone who wants a daytime book club. Over morning coffee, we read engaging novels and memoirs--which often focus on the lives of women and children around the world--and we have lively discussions. Come be hot and popular with us!

A Short Introduction to Hot & Popular:

1. How would you character the Hot & Popular Book Club?

Hot & Popular is a morning bookclub filled with a variety of people whose ages span 50 years. We have members who read voraciously and those who only read one book each month. We have fantastic discussions, whether the book selection was loved or not. Our group laughs a lot!

2. Which book has been the most popular, or caused the most lively discussion, or was noteworthy in any way? Why?

This question is tough for me to answer, because I really can't recall a discussion that wasn't enjoyable, and I always learn so much. We recently read Inside the O'Briens. Someone in our group has a friend with Huntington's disease, so the discussion was especially poignant.

3. What might a new member expect when attending Hot & Popular for the first time?

A new member would find a very warm and welcoming group. It makes us extremely happy to make new friends.
