In this charming juvenile picture book, Lane Smith leads the reader on a journey through the garden the life that is Grandpa Green.

The moments of Grandpa Green's life are remembered through topiaries in the garden. Topiaries which depict the farm on which he grew up. Topiaries with red berries, illustrating the chicken pox he got in fourth grade. Topiaries of the book characters he read about when he had to stay home from school. Topiaries of the war which derailed his dream of studying horticulture, of his marriage to Grandma Green, and of all of the Green kids, grandkids, and great-grandkid.

Grandpa Green used to remember everything. But as he ages, sometimes he forgets. Even though Grandpa Green now sometimes forgets, his garden never does. It is always there to remind him.

"Grandpa Green" is a touching look at aging and memory. It's an excellent way for parents and grandparents to teach young ones about the important elements of family history and love.
