CANCELLED: David Sedaris at the Stiefel Theatre

04/19/2013 8:00 pm

We are very sorry announce that David Sedaris has cancelled his engagement tonight at the Stiefel Theatre.

He is not able to get to Kansas, literally everything has been tried. Due to weather in Chicago yesterday and problems with connections and mechanical difficulties now on his plane this situation is unavoidable.

We hope and plan at some point to reschedule!

For now the Stiefel will be refunding all tickets purchased for David Sedaris on Friday, April 19 at the Stiefel Theatre.

With sardonic wit and incisive social critiques, David Sedaris has become one of America’s pre-eminent humor writers. The great skill with which he slices through cultural euphemisms and political correctness proves that Sedaris is a master of satire and one of the most observant writers addressing the human condition today.
David Sedarisis the author of Barrel Feverand Holidays on Ice, as well as collections of personal essays, Naked, Me Talk Pretty One Day, Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, and When You Are Engulfed in Flames, each of which became a bestseller. There are a total of seven million copies of his books in print and they have been translated into 25 languages. He was the editor of Children Playing Before a Statue of Hercules: An Anthology of Outstanding Stories. Sedaris’s pieces appear regularly in The New Yorkerand have twice been included in “The Best American Essays.” His newest book, a collection of fables entitled Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary (with illustrations by Ian Falconer), was published in September 2010 and immediately hit the NYTBestseller Fiction List. His next book is entitled Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls and will be published on April 23, 2013.
